To climb and head out with the club you need two things: to be a member of Club Alpino Ama Dablam and to have a federation licence, which is your accident insurance in the mountains and at the climbing wall. Here's how to get both, step by step.
You pay for two things: the club membership fee and the federation licence. Answer a few questions and we'll tell you which licence to ask for and how much to transfer.

This calculator is our way of explaining things, not an official document. What counts are the rates and cover set by the FADMES (the Andalusian mountain sports federation) and the FAE. If your situation doesn't fit, ask us before you pay.
One payment to the club covers both: we take care of processing your licence with the federation. The calculator above gives you the amount and the type of licence, and the club's bank account number is at the top of the membership form on Playoff.

Take a screenshot or a photo of the receipt: you'll attach it in the next step.
It's on Playoff, the platform the club uses for members, activities and payments. Attach the screenshot of your transfer and your photo.
Membership form on PlayoffChoose the type the calculator gave you; it will ask for your ID document and your date of birth. We'll handle the rest: the club secretary processes licences with the federation on Tuesdays. If you've got a trip coming up soon, let us know so it arrives in time.
Search for Club Alpino Ama Dablam and log in with your DNI. That's where you'll find out about trips, courses and workshops, and sign up for them.
Open the Ama Dablam Playoff app, take a screenshot showing that you're a member with a federation licence, and print it. You leave that sheet at the sports centre reception in the Palacio de los Deportes so they know you can use the walls. A printed screenshot from the FADMES app or your FAE card also works, but the club app also lets you sign up for trips. Climbing wall opening hours and rules.
The names look like a code, but they only tell you two things: how far the insurance covers you and which sports it includes.
A is Andalucía. A NAC and B, Spain and nearby. C, Europe. D, worldwide. The further you go, the more it costs.
They all cover hiking, climbing, via ferratas, mountaineering, canyoning and ski touring. The «+» adds mountain biking, caving and cross-country skiing. C and D already include them.
On Playoff you'll see A1, B1 or C1: they're the same licences, but from 1 July to 31 December, and cheaper.
| Licence | Covers you in | 18 and over | Under 18 |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Andalucía, Ceuta and Melilla | €45 | €11 |
| A+ | Andalucía, with mountain biking, caving and cross-country skiing | €58 | €26 |
| A NAC | Spain, Andorra, the French Pyrenees, Portugal and Morocco | €52 | €22 |
| B | Same as A NAC, and valid for the FEDME | €66 | €29 |
| C | Europe and Morocco | €127 | €87 |
| D | Worldwide, up to 7,000 m | €215 | — |
| D2 | Worldwide, over 7,000 m | €920 | — |
A NAC or B? They cover the same places. A NAC is cheaper, but it isn't valid for competitions, courses and activities run by the Spanish federation (FEDME), and it doesn't get you a discount at mountain huts outside Andalucía. If you're not doing any of that, A NAC is fine.
This is a summary put together by the club. The full cover and conditions for each licence are in the official FADMES rates.
If caving or canyoning is your thing, you can get your licence through the FAE instead of the FAM. It works the same way but with different letters: A is Spain, B Spain, Europe and Morocco, and B1 worldwide.
The Básica (basic) covers caving, canyoning and hiking. The Plus adds climbing, mountaineering, via ferratas and mountain biking. To use the club's climbing walls with an FAE licence you need the Plus.
The official information is on the FAE licences page.
18 and over: Básica A, €67; Plus A, €104.
Licence and membership fee run by calendar year: they all end on 31 December, whenever you sign up.
Not sure which licence covers what you're planning to do? Ask us before you pay: it's easier to get it right first time than to change your licence later.
The club membership fee plus the federation licence you choose, in a single bank transfer. For example, an adult heading out around Andalucía for the full year pays €35 membership fee plus €45 for the A licence: €80. For your own case, use the calculator.
Membership fee and licence run by calendar year and expire on 31 December. Sign-ups for the following year open in mid-December: renew then so you're not left without insurance in January. If you join from 1 July onwards, you pay for the half season.
Yes, with the climbing wall card for climbers who aren't members of a local club: €15 a month, €25 for six months or €40 a year. To get in, you leave proof of your federation licence at the sports centre reception: a printed screenshot from the FADMES app or your FAE card. See the climbing wall card.
The course registration fee (€25 a year) already includes the insurance, the club membership fee and a T-shirt. Then you choose the course day on Playoff. See the kids' climbing course.

You'll find members of many nationalities at the club. But it's also a great chance to improve your Spanish, while you climb and head out to the mountains with us.
